Yes, there's a bug in OS X that creates that file when Default Folder X asks whether an application is sandboxed. Here's a version of Default Folder X that works around the bug:

http://www.stclairsoft.com/download/DefaultFolderX-4.4.11d3.dmg

I hope to release it on Monday. Sorry for the trouble.

There are two possible fixes here.

First, there was a problem with the original installer that could cause OS X to miss the new Default Folder X Service application. Please download this fixed installer:

	http://www.stclairsoft.com/download/DefaultFolderX-4.4.9.dmg

It should get the service installed where it'll be recognized correctly.

Second, if installing with the new installer doesn't fix it, OS X's handling of new Services could be to blame. Posts on Apple's support forums imply this may be a fairly common problem. You can manually update the list of services by opening a Terminal window and typing this command, followed by a Return:

	/System/Library/CoreServices/pbs -existing_languages

After doing these things, check and see if the service is present in the Keyboard preferences where it's supposed to be.

Sorry for the hassle.

I'm afraid the contextual menus are still only available in some applications as of version 4.4.7. I'll get on that next. The priority on this release has been to address the cause of crashes.

The contextual menu is actually still available under Lion in some applications, but not in others. It depends on whether the app is using new API calls or old ones under the hood. In any case, I'm working to get Default Folder X updated to support the new API's as well as the old ones - then you should have the contextual menu back in all apps.

Thank you for the quick Lion fixes. Unfortunately, one of the features I used most often under Snow Leopard is still non-functional. In Open/Save dialogs, I would right-click to bring up a contextual menu that would allow me to rename or even Trash files. I would love to see that feature restored, if at all possible.

Thank you!
