Thanks Jon. If you can do something, great. If not, no worries :)

David, Darth Vaderish LOL :D
It seems to be a popular look these days, but I don't like when it comes to software.
I do like it for some items such as my External Drive, Logitech Mouse, Norelco Razor, etc., but not for software.

I downloaded the new version and have been using it for a while. The new look is not life-threatening, but I too don't like it -- because it is distracting. If there were a way to get the old look back, or at least an alternative that's less Darth Vaderish, I would appreciate it.

Eddie - the best I can do at present is to suggest that you change your settings to use the "small floating window" option. That'll give you a little toolbar on the side like DFX 3, but it'll still be translucent gray with white and gray icons.

* Sigh * this whole interface change seems to be a very polarizing issue - people either love it or hate it. I'll see what I can do.

I don’t mean to sound negative, but I hate the new look.
As soon as I saw a new version I downloaded it. I read that it was a paid upgrade and did not mind. I’ve used DF for many years and whenever there’s an upgrade fee I gladly pay for it.
But after watching the pictures and video I just don’t get the boring “Leopard” look that seems to be so popular these days. I remember those old Keleidoscope schemes and perhaps they were a bigger influence on me than I expected :)
Is there a way to provide an alternative look to DF 4? Maybe something like KeyCue‘s themes? Or at least the previous DF 3 look?
Chances are I will upgrade either way. I love this program :)

I just ordered my DFX 4 upgrade. This is the truth. This morning, I was moving very quickly through the daily work flow using DFX. I marveled at how great it was to have DFX and was curious to what new program will be released. I asked myself, "How can it be better?" When you have a great program, that questions arises often.

Well, I just got back from lunch and I was floored to see a DFX upgrade available! In my mind, this is the #1 program for work flow management. Nothing helps me more than DFX as I work through the myriad of files and programs necessary for broadcast production. I have been using this program for years and would not be without!

Thanks to all the engineers and staff for upgrading DFX!

DFX 4 looks great. I went right out and upgraded in anticipation. Looking forward to the new version in Leopard.

You're welcome :-) Yes, labels were one of the bigger requests - people are using them in combination with Spotlight to organize and prioritize their files, so it made sense to add that to the Spotlight comment window, in particular. Thanks for making your suggestion - that's what helps make DFX better!

Just saw the video and I'm excited to see you've implemented my request (I'm sure I waasn't the only one) to have the ability to apply labels in the dialog. Can't wait to get the software. Thanks.

Just saw Dan Frakes' rundown of DF over at Macworld and it looks really amazing. I've never used the Spotlight Comments feature before but I'll definitely start doing it once I get my hands on the new release. Great job.
